All Botox injections are done on Fridays with our Aesthetic Nurse Injector Gloria Botimer. She has an eye for detail and understands the needs of each patients’ unique facial structure. It is with a delicate hand and experience that Gloria is able to use Botox or Dysport to relax facial muscles and leave the patient looking refreshed without having to go on vacation.
What is Botox?
Botox or Dysport are wrinkles relaxers that use Botulinum Toxin to help relax unwanted wrinkles by temporarily blocking your muscles from movements like furrowing your brows or scrunching your eyes creating crow’s feet. It can take from 3 to 14 days to help lessen the appearance of those wrinkles, but lasts about 3 to 5 months. It has a cumulative effect that translates to fewer units in the long run.
How many units of Botox will I need?
Everyone is different with the amount of units needed of Botox or Dysport. We are either treating dynamic wrinkles or static wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles are only created by muscle movements and are easy to treat when caught early with preventative treatment. Static wrinkles are wrinkles that are created over time by consistent and repetitive muscle movements. And static wrinkles can be lessened overtime with consistent treatments of Botox or Dysport. We suggest starting in your mid 20s as a preventative measure with small doses of Botox or Dysport of 8 to 10 units on average – but every person is different and results may vary.
What is the difference between Botox and Dysport or other neurotoxins?
All neurotoxins like Dysport, Botox & Xeomin have the SAME type of active toxin. And when they are all compared to each other in the same FDA approved dose – Dysport has a higher amount of active toxin! This is probably why we see the results lasting longer in our patients and with a faster onset of a few days vs 1 to 2 weeks! 🤩
We get asked by our patients if Dysport spreads more than other neurotoxins once injected. And the easiest explanation is that all the neurotoxins on the market have the same active ingredient. The variable is that the injection is done by different injectors – variables can be the amount they dilute, the force they use to inject or the amount injected 💉 We are always happy to answer any of your injection questions!
We look forward to doing your injections in the future 🤗 In the meantime you can save money by signing up for the Aspire Rewards program or you can download the app! If you have any questions please contact us!
